Fun Activities around Vancouver

Fun activities around Vancouver are included in our Good News newsletter. If there is something going on in your neighbourhood, please give us the info early enough so we can promote it for you in our Good News newsletter.

Patio Chats and Pop-Up Recycling Stations

These weekly events give people a chance to chat together about issues in Vancouver and to bring their recycling for collection.

Currently we host these from our “head office” but the plan is for people to host in their own neighbourhood. The ideal team would be two persons who live in the neighbourhood to choose a location, and set up the sticker station of issues and the collection bags for recycling items. At the close of the session, this team would drop off the recycling at a depot and rest up for the next week!

Goals for Events hosted by Build Local Communities

To be clear, here are the goals we have for Build Local Communities events.

1. Since our hosts are all volunteers, it is important that we all have fun at our events.
2. We also want to be sure our guests have fun, too.
3. Finally, we want people to opt in to the BLC Good News newsletter email list. This makes it easy to keep in contact with them and provide more information about good things in Vancouver. Our goal is “Joy and Optimism” for all residents.
